Our journey has begun in which we shed light on people who are unhappy with a sedentary life and want to get rid of the weight that lowers their life conditions. Even the "obesity surgery" discourse made us shudder, while "bariatric surgery" became a much better and easier discourse. Because we were not obese people, unhappy with their excess weight. Gastric sleeve surgery, also known as sleeve gastrectomy, is a surgical weight-loss procedure in which a portion of the stomach is removed, leaving a smaller, banana-shaped or sleeve-like stomach. This surgery is designed to help individuals with obesity lose weight by restricting the amount of food they can eat and reducing the production of hunger-inducing hormones.

We perform our surgeries using laparoscopic techniques. We create 3 to 4 small incisions in the abdomen, which are between 0.5 to 1 centimeters. The scope and instruments needed to perform the surgery are inserted through these incisions. We then staple off a portion of the stomach and remove the excess, effectively turning it from a pouch into a sleeve.
Individuals having a body mass index (BMI) higher than 30 and an obesity-related health issue as well as all individuals with a BMI higher than 35 can benefit from gastric sleeve surgery.

Patients spend an average of two days in hospital after gastric sleeve surgery. On the third day, we perform tests such as gastrointestinal leakage test to make sure that our patients are in good health. After these tests are done, our patients can leave the hospital. Bariatric Istanbul Patients are not transferred to the hotel! They are always cared for in the hospital! This practice is among the biggest features that distinguish us from others!
The first ten days following gastric sleeve surgery is very important. During the first 10 days patients are required to follow a clear, liquid diet so as to protect the stomach. After 10 days the stomach will still be healing but if the patients follow the guidelines we provide them following surgery, in around 3 months their stomachs will be fully recovered.
